Artful Squared exhibition shows the work of Artful Minds, a group of emerging and professional Taupō artists and makers with a strong commitment to supporting each other grow and evolve in their practice. The name representing ‘minds full of art’ - smart, intelligent, collaborative.

Each year, the Artful Minds group is invited to showcase their work in the gallery at Lava Glass. This year, the group chose to work on pieces that were limited to 400 x 400mm framed size. The artists in the group each have their own medium and style, working in oil painting, acrylic painting, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, encaustic wax, cold wax medium and woodturning.

Causality II

My work in this exhibition, references the climatic changes we are witnessing, and while we all need to take responsibility, it is galling that large corporations such as major oil companies are undeclaring the extent of practices such as gas flaring that are “a significant source of greenhouse gas emission” - https://wwww.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-62917498.
